Managing your time and keeping track of deadlines is crucial! Time management keeps you accountable, ensures you finish your project on time, and also preserves the quality of your project (makes it the best it can be). In essence, let's make sure you don't pull an all-nighter the day before your project is due.
Set a schedule and follow it through
If you dedicate 30 min a night to- for example- researching your topic and annotating 1 source, then make sure you do this! Scheduling allows you to break up your work into smaller pieces so that you don't have to grind all at once.

2. Focus on one aspect at a time...in order
Each aspect of NHD builds off of one another...and some parts can't be done before others. For instance, I don't want to see you scouting out interviews without having finished your thesis statement. Not only does this create stress for everyone, but it also causes confusion and unclear goals.
3. If working in a group, delegate work FAIRLY
There is a fine line between splitting up work evenly among people and giving everything to one person to do. To work together effectively, everyone should take a piece of the project that they are most interested in and confident they can perform well. Use each other's strengths to determine who will take primary responsibility for each part of the project. Keep in mind that EVERYONE should be knowledgeable about the topic and the entire project-- don't compromise learning for laziness!

4. Don't give up!!!
Mid-way through researching your project it may become easy to give up and not continue giving NHD your 100% effort. HOWEVER, you must remind yourself of your goals (whether that be earning an A or advancing through the competition). If you find you are struggling with motivation, check out my article, "Motivation"

Dates may vary based on your specific teacher/school's deadlines.
No more all-nighters for you! You got this!!
